Online workshop: Applying for jobs in Norway

The goal of this online workshop is to make you a more informed, credible and successful job-seeker in Norway. You will learn what Norwegian employers expect and place an emphasis on, as well as what the most common mistakes are, and how to avoid them. The instructor will share knowledge about Norwegian culture and job market that is hard to find in other places, and that may take years to figure out on your own. There will be reflection exercises to increase your self-awareness and find your inner motivation. The workshop will cover the entire job-seeking process and there will be time to answer your questions related to job-seeking in Norway.

Online workshop: Working with Norwegians

The goal of this workshop is for you to understand the social norms, unwritten rules and expectations of Norwegian workplaces. You will learn how to deal with the lack of clarity that often prevails. The instructor will share knowledge about Norwegian workplace culture that is hard to find in other places, and that may take years to figure out on your own. There will be exercises with scenarios where cultural differences come to the surface, for reflection and discussion. There will also be a small part about socializing in Norway.

About the Speaker

The instructor is Karin Ellis (CEO of Ellis Culture), author of the books ‘Working with Norwegians’, ‘Applying for jobs in Norway’ and ‘Flerkulturelle arbeidsplasser’. Karin has several years’ experience with developing and conducting intercultural training. Typical feedback from participants of these sessions is that misunderstandings and mistakes made in the past could have been avoided if they had participated earlier.
