Dr. Bjarte Aarmo Lund is a postdoctoral researcher with the Tromsø-node of the Hylleraas Centre for Quantum Molecular Sciences where he studies how enzymes are adapted to extreme environments in the group of Professor Bjørn Olav Brandsdal. Dr. Lund did his PhD on serine beta-lactamases, atypical antibiotic resistance enzymes, with an emphasis on drug design and understanding their diversity with Professor Hanna-Kirsti Schrøder Leiros. Dr. Lund has been nominated and won several prizes for his work on communicating science to the public. He is motivated by X-ray crystallography and thermodynamics.
