I am a PhD student at the Protein Engineering and Proteomics at NMBU. I got my bachelor’s degree in biotech engineering in 2016 (Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico), after which I worked for about two years in a Molecular Biology lab, and two years as a Data Scientist. Then, I studied a master’s degree in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy (Erasmus Mundus program, at URCA, TalTech and AgroParisTech), and did my thesis on engineering the substrate specificity of lytic polysaccharide mono-oxygenases. Now, my PhD thesis is about the discovery and engineering of enzymes for the depolymerization and modification of synthetic polymers, as part of the Enzyclic project.
I am excited to become a part of this network of people working on biocatalysis.
