I am a Portuguese PhD student doing lab work at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). This project aims for the mitigation of carbon dioxide through enzymatic catalysis. I obtained a BSc, and a MSc in Biochemistry in the Nova School of Science and Technology is Lisbon (FCT-NOVA), which the focus of the thesis was to perform a screening of possible inhibitors (e.g., Juglone and Ubiquinone) of Cb5R’s activity and then to characterize their mechanisms of action with the enzyme. After the MSc, I won an scholarship in Portugal that allowed me to work in the characterization of 2 copper enzymes and a haem peroxidase. For these studies I used spectroscopic (e.g., UV-Vis) and electrochemical techniques (e.g., Cyclic Voltammetry).
