I received my master’s degree in biomedical sciences at the University of Bergen summer 2023. The project was a structural study of the activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated (Arc) protein, using methods such as recombinant protein expression and purification, SAXS, XRD and cryo-EM.

I am currently working as a PhD candidate in Martha Engers lab at the department of biomedicine at UiB. We have a main interest in translational cancer research and glioblastoma. During my project, I will be focusing on drug design against the target proteoglycan CSPG4/NG2 which is upregulated in much of vascular and tumor tissue. I am mainly using methods such as recombinant protein expression and purification, XRD, single-particle cryo-EM and drug design. We hope that our research will result in a new treatment for glioblastoma, with the current standard treatment extending the average survival to less than 15 months after diagnosis.
