I studied biomolecular engineering in Germany and took part on a variety of projects during that time, including confocal fluorescent laser scanning microscopy and enzyme engineering. Now I am doing a PhD with a focus on synthetic promotors. We strive to develop a method that lets us produce proteins in any organism for any gene of interest. As a follow up, I hope to analyze the sequences with the potential of identifying new motifs. For this, I am currently working with E. coli, P. putida, C. glutamicum, Vibrio natriegens and S. cerevisiae.
