Ludvik holds a master’s degree in chemistry from UiB (2019) and is now a PhD-student working at the Department of Chemistry and Department of Biomedicine funded by UiB’s strategic program on global societal challenges. The PhD projects tentative title is “Inhibitors of bacterial fatty acid synthesis” where the goal is to identify inhibitors of the enzyme FabF, which is an important enzyme in the fatty acid metabolism of bacteria and thus can form the basis for development of new antibiotics. Ludvik is supervised by Bengt Erik Haug, Jarl Underhaug and Ruth Brenk.
