I am a PhD in the Biopolymers and Biomaterials research group at the Biotechnology and Food science department at NTNU, working for Finn L. Aachmann. I will work on chemical and chemoenzymatic extraction, characterization and modification of polysaccharides from brown seaweed. A particular focus will be set on the polysaccharide fucoidan. I have a background working with forest based biopolymers and materials. During my master thesis I modified cellulose fibers to gain transparent paper and have also worked as an engineer at a Swedish research institute focusing on forest based materials.
