I have a BSc and MSc in Nanoscience obtained at the University of Bergen. I completed my master’s thesis in the Martinez lab (Biorecognition research group). My master’s thesis focused on the interaction of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and α-synuclein and the effects of this interaction on the activity of TH and its inhibition by dopamine.
I am continuing as a PhD student in the Biorecognition group at the Department of Biomedicine. For my PhD project I aim to elucidate regulatory mechanisms determining dopamine homeostasis, notably those involving the coordinated function of TH and vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2), and how their dysfunction leads to dopamine deficiencies.
