Zuzanna Samol is an industrial PhD student at the University of Stavanger and a MSCA-ITN fellow in the PIANO project at Polypure AS.
In 2020, she completed her BSc in Chemical Engineering as an exchange program between three polish technical universities (AGH Krakow, Lodz, and Gdansk). During her BSc, she studied miscibility assessment of resorbable binary and ternary polymer blends for biomedical applications. Before enrolling in the PhD studies, she completed her MSc in Materials Science majoring in biomaterials at AGH, where she worked on bioactive sol-gel glasses doped with therapeutic ions for bone and soft tissue regeneration.
Currently, she is working on development of a hydrogel-based drug delivery system for neuropathic pain treatment in dorsal root ganglia. Her work focuses mainly on synthesis and purification of monodisperse library of PEG and PPG derivatives, as well as formulation of PEGylated nanoparticles and stimuli responsive hydrogels.
