Description of Research Group
We synthesize PAHs and their metabolites for environmental studies, and studies of the metabolism of such compounds. Although being a organic synthesis group we collaborate with several research groups that study metabolism of PAHs, and their need for compounds motivate a large part of the group activities. Lately we have also begun studying electrochemical oxidation of PAHs and their phase 1 metabolites like chrysenols and phenanthrenols, to compare with enzymatic metabolism.
